Rules and Information:
- The first 100 online entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis until all positions are filled. Parent or guardian must complete the online entry form.
- Online entry form will not be accepted without acknowledgement of contestant release & indemnity agreement, nonrefundable entry fee, and a copy of birth certificate to verify age of contestant.
- The weight limit is 60 lbs. All contestants must weigh-in on the day of event. Unfortunately, if over 61 pounds, the contestant will be disqualified, and no refund will be provided.
- No youth under four (4) years of age or over the age of eight (8) on the day of event. Proof of age (copy of birth certificate which will remain with application) is required. Birth certificate must be provided (UPLOADED) by parent at time of entry.
- You must report to the Brazoria County Fair Arena VIP section 1 HOUR PRIOR TO THE EVENT on the day of the event. Upon arrival, those contestants that met the weight requirements will be issued a contestant number which must be worn during the entire event.
- Helmets and protective vests will be provided and are mandatory.
- Long-sleeved shirts and pants are required.
- Contestants and parents need to sit in the general admission stands next to the holding area
- Contestants will be called in groups based off their contestant #.
- Only one parent will be allowed in the arena and/or holding area with the contestant.
- Spurs are optional but not provided.
- If a contestant refuses to ride, they will be required to leave the arena floor and holding area. If they later change their mind and decide to ride, they will be placed at the end of the contestant run list. They must be in the holding area and ready to ride with the last contestant. If the contestant refuses to ride a 2nd time, they will be given a no score.
- Rigging ropes are optional and decision must be noted on entry form. If not noted, the automatic default will be not desired. All contestants choosing rigging ropes must provide their own rope and will be riding at the end of the event. Parent or Guardian will be given a maximum of 1 minute to rig rope and rider. The Committee, Staff or Volunteers will not be able to assist during this time, nor will they be held liable for any issues.
- There will be 3 lines starting at the chute and in 10’ intervals placed on the arena floor. The first (1st) line will indicate a 50 score, the second (2nd) line will indicate a 60 score, the third (3rd) and final line will indicate a 70 score. Any contestant riding past the 30’ line (70 score) will be given a score by the Judge of the event.
- All decisions of the event officials including the Judge are final.
All contestants will be given a participation ribbon. The top 10 placing contestants will be called back for a short go round. Contestants not in the short go round are allowed to leave after they have received their ribbon. There will be Grand & Reserve Champion buckles presented to the top 2 contestants at each event.
